This first test was an experiment using a small torch to shine across the page as though it were the light from the TV flickering. From this first test I can see that the movement is a bit radical and the light moves to much across the page, rather than a gentle flickering.
For this next test I kept the light as stil as possible. I think this gives a more realistic effect for the TV. I also notice that when I shine the light in this way it creates dark areas around the edge of the animation where I need it. So there is no need to draw in the dark areas around it with pencil like I originally planned. I grateful it has turned out this way as this makes drawing each frame a much simpler process.
